It's been a long time but there has been slow and steady progress. A weekend day here and there and now I've finished the first batch of Dark Angel infantry! These are all painted as the classic 3rd Battle Company. I started with the primed models in my backlog so none of these are Primaris - those will be coming soon though.

Safer at Home - Weekend 17 (July 12)
I took a couple of weekends off to have a holiday and a short break from painting. I also settled on a plan to try to tackle my Dark Angel collection before 10th Edition is released.

Safer at Home - Weekend 14 (June 21)
This was another weekend that was a bit lean on the hobby work. I was busy working on some other projects and perhaps needed a short break. My Nighthaunt are almost compete - just a handful of models to paint. I'm now looking at the elephant in the room: my Dark Angel space marines.

Safer at Home - Weekend 13 (June 14)
This weekend I took a break from painting and spent some time assembling terrain and one of my remaining night haunt models: Lady Olynder herself.

Safer at Home - Weekend 12 (June 7)
The big milestone this week was completing the Legion Separtist army. It's now 100% painted. I also finished a few characters for the Nighthaunt which brings them to 97% painted.

Safer at Home Review - Weekend 11 (May 31)
This review brings us up to date with the work that's been done so far while I've been stuck at home. This weekend I painted the final unit in the Nighthaunt collection. I also primed the remaining models that are assembled.
Safer at Home Review - Weekend 10 (24 May)
Memorial Day weekend was good for my hobby. I got in a couple of nice games and I painted another full unit. The Nighthaunt are now over 90% complete.
Safer at Home Review - Weekend 9 (17 May)
After taking a couple of weekends off I returned to the Nighthaunt. This weekend I painted a unit of bladegeists as well as a couple more characters. The collection is getting very close to being done. I just have a handful of characters and another unit to paint.
Safer at Home Review - Weekend 8 (10 May)
This weekend I ended up playing a couple of games and didn't get any painting done. I did do the primer coat on the armor plates of my Imperial Knight. I'll be painting this once the Nighthaunt are complete. I decided on gold trim as the Knight has a really nice first game and I feel a reward is in order.
Safer at Home Review - Weekend 7 (3 May)
This weekend I took a bit of a break so there were only a handful of models painted. I decided to stay away from the remaining squads so I painted a few of the character models that will show up in the lists.

Safer at Home Review - Weekend 6 (26 April)
Time to take a break from the ghosts and take care of some of the quicker to paint models in a couple of different armies. The weekend was Imperials for Star Wars Legion and late-war British for Flames of War.
Safer at Home Review - Weekend 5 (19 April)
Spirit Hosts were next on the painting list. They were a nice reward after slogging through so many battle line infantry.
Safer at Home Review - Weekend 4 (12 April)
Here they are: 100 chainrasps. The basing is still not done as I didn't have the right texture basing material and all of the shops are closed. In fact, my order for replacement spray paint was shipped the day before Games Workshop halted operations. More images after the break.

Safer at Home Review - Weekend 3 (5 April)
I started to dive into the Nighthaunt the only way you really tackle this kind of project: right into the deep end.
Here you can see the test model for my chainrasps with a fairly simple scheme. Leather cowl and ghost effect. I decided to do hands and weapons as solid colors to have them fade into a ghost-like state.
I also had some time to work on terrain for my 15mm systems (Flames of War and Teak Yankee WWIII) so I based a set of little trees (Sherman for scale)
Safer at Home Review - Weekend 2 (29 March)
The second weekend was spent mainly spray priming models. In fact, I ran out of spray primer and had to order more. I did get a couple of models done for Marvel Crisis Protocol. I'm not 100% happy with the bases and still need to add flocking to Black Panther's base.
Safer at Home Review - Weekend 1 (22 March)
2020 has turned out to be a really interesting year. After returning from LVO I decided to take my Nighthaunt to the next championship. I also decided that I would try to get my various armies to 100% painted.

A New Beginning
It seems I restart this space every four or five years. The crank has turned and the time has come. This will be a general gaming blog with a focus on miniature wargaming. Right now the games being played are Age of Sigmar, Warhammer40K, Flames of War, Star Wars Legion and Team Yankee. There are others but these are the primary ones that will appear. I plan to have a hobby log so this will mostly be painting progress and some game reports. Thanks for stumbling onto the blog and I hope you find something interesting.
